Where is the best place to get certified to teach English in Phuket, Thailand?
I've decided I'm going to the U.S. in late July or early August, but I currently have a certification. I know that is not absolutely necessary, but my understanding is to find a better job. I'm looking at both the TOEFL and CELTA certification. I would also find a place that offers assistance with the comforts that I have something to help understand my bearings with the first arrive. This is a big change and I'm on my own, a place that does not know a … I can not wait!
Hi Johan, I think you all the reason for a CELTA. Really help you get a job at the best schools, but remember it is a title for teaching adults and many jobs involve teaching children. There is greater recognition of four titles week CELTA (although the Trinity is equally well considered), so that could also be better. I would not worry too much about help with finding accommodation. Thailand is one of the easiest and cheapest in the world to find a place stay. However, if this is really important, some training providers are given. The two main suppliers in Thailand are IH and ECC. (See links below.) All CELTA courses are validated externally (that's why employers like them both), so the quality should be comparable. IH can help with accommodation, but I can not ECC. One advantage of IH is that they are part of a global network, so you should be able to move around the world more easily. ECC job security in their schools in Thailand successful participants. I do not know how their work is compared in terms of pay, etc. so you need to check it out. Hope that helps!
